Bobby Cole is an ordinary Texan in extraordinary times. He’s a retired firefighter, cattle man and poultry producer, and ready to take on fights in Austin and beyond.
Bobby knows what we need fixed because he’s been in our shoes. Lower prices on essentials, an economy that works for the working folks, and less policy driven by big donors and billionaires. A government that recognizes hard work and good ideas can be a reality because that’s what Bobby will prioritize.
Farming is the kind of work that will keep people humble and looking for a second income. Bobby was in that position as a dairy farmer early in life. One day he was thumbing through a Greensheet at the local Dairy Queen and saw an ad looking for firefighters. That’s how his second career started.
His commute to work in Texarkana, and later in Plano where he retired from the fire department as a Lieutenant, was over 100 miles each way. Despite the journey, getting home to Quitman after a 24-hour shift, he would work his dairy farm, making sure cows were milked twice a day, every day of the year.
Eventually the extra income (and coffee) helped him and his family build a small operation into 1,000 acres that raises 300 head of cattle and over 1,000,000 chickens a year that feed American families.
A generation of Republican control has made a mess in Texas, and it’s time we clean it up. Like our out-of-control property taxes. Economic uncertainty about inflation and prices. Underfunding a strained public education system. And ignoring important problems, like healthcare, all to focus on extreme policies supported by billionaires and bullies.
No more.
Bobby’s hallmark is a no-nonsense approach to solving problems–common sense and practical, just like ordinary Texans at home. That’s the approach you learn after 30 years of farming. A pro-worker Democrat who won’t shy away from a policy fight, he’s ready to work as hard in Austin as he does on his farm.
We need Bobby, a Texan with calloused hands, strong ties to the land and his family, and a commitment to serving all Texans.
